Our birch log peeling and veneer production has started, marking an important step toward the production of premium 100% Birch Plywood made in Latvia.
For us, producing high-quality full birch plywood does not begin with a finished plywood panel.
It begins with the birch log.
From Birch Logs to Premium 100% Birch Plywood
At SIA “58Northwood”, we are building an integrated manufacturing process designed specifically for 100% Birch Plywood.
The production journey starts with carefully selected birch logs from Latvia and continues through our own veneer production and plywood manufacturing processes.
Birch logs → Birch veneer → Drying → Grading → Lay-up → Hot pressing → Sanding → Finished 100% Birch Plywood
With our own veneer production, we are able to control an important part of the raw material and manufacturing process from the beginning.
This is especially important for customers looking for 100% birch plywood, where consistency of veneer quality, construction and bonding are critical.
The First Step: Birch Log Peeling
The start of birch log peeling is an important milestone for our factory.
During the peeling process, selected birch logs are processed into high-quality birch veneer for plywood production.
This veneer will become the foundation of our future plywood panels.

For 100% Birch Plywood, veneer is at the heart of the product.
The quality of the finished plywood depends on many factors, including the quality of the birch logs, peeling process, veneer thickness, drying, grading, bonding and pressing.
That is why our factory development focuses not only on the final plywood panel, but also on the processes that come before it.
Better control of the veneer means better control of the plywood.
Our production line is being developed to support both core veneer and face veneer production, helping us build a consistent full-birch plywood structure from the inside out.
